LONDON, Ont. - A 41-year-old immigration lawyer from London is going to attempt to swim across Lake Ontario.

Greg Willoughby plans to start from Niagara-on-the-Lake tonight and swim to Marilyn Bell Park, near Ontario Place in Toronto.

If he's successful, Willoughby will be the 55th person to accomplish the feat and the first from London.

Willoughby hopes to make the swim in about 18 hours, but he says it depends on what the conditions are.

He is attempting the swim, not only for personal reasons, but also to raise money for St. Joseph's Regional Mental Health Care.

His goal is to raise $25,000.
