The grieving family of 27-year-old Jahmeel Spence pleaded for help Sunday in finding the person who killed the father of two children.
Spence was gunned down Friday night, while attending a family barbecue at a Scarborough townhouse.
A flowery memorial sits in the alleyway near Lawrence Avenue and Bellamy Road. Roses and a partially deflated balloon mixed with candles as Spence's family gathered to ask the public for help finding the shooter.
Spence's wife was too grief-stricken to speak publicly. Her sister, Ladawn Clark, described Spence as a loving family man.
"Jahmeel Spence was a wonderful husband and an amazing father," she said. "If anyone has any information on this tragedy, please come forward."
This is the second time a member of the Spence family has fallen victim to street violence. In 1996, 15-year-old Ishmael Spence, Jahmeel's brother, was stabbed to death at the Kennedy subway station.
