Gourmet grocer Pusateri's reopened to the public on Monday after health concerns closed its uptown Toronto store over the weekend.

Toronto Public Health ordered the upscale store at Avenue Road and Lawrence Avenue West to close on Thursday due to a pest infestation and poor sanitation.

The store, which passed its last health inspection in late August, passed a follow-up inspection and was given the green light to resume business.

A company spokesperson has said the cockroach infestation may have been caused by a shipment of holiday wicker baskets imported from overseas.
