Here's what you need to know about what's open and closed in the GTA over the Christmas holidays.
Christmas Eve, although not technically a holiday, will kick off reduced business hours across the city. Boxing Day is a federal and provincial statutory holiday, but also a big day for shopping.
What will be open on Christmas Eve?
Grocery Stores
Costco will be open 8 a.m. to 5 p.m.
Farm Boy will be open 7 a.m. to 5 p.m.
Metro and Food Basics will be open from 7 a.m. to 6 p.m.
Sobeys and FreshCo – 7 a.m. to 6 p.m. All locations except the Sobeys at Yonge and Ballio will be open from 6 a.m. to 7 p.m., Rosenbury Square will be open from 8 a.m. to 6 p.m. and Bloor and Islington will be open from 8 a.m. to 9 p.m.
Whole Foods will be open from 8 a.m. to 7 p.m.
Walmart – All locations will be open 7 a.m. to 6 p.m. except for Gerrard Square, which will be open from 8 a.m. to 6 p.m.
Shopping Malls
CF Toronto Eaton Centre – open from 9 a.m. to 5 p.m.
Yorkdale Shopping Centre – open from 10 a.m. to 5 p.m.
Fairview Mall – open from 9 a.m. to 6 p.m.
Scarborough Town Centre – open from 10 a.m. to 5 p.m.
Toronto Premium Outlets – open from 9 a.m. to 6 p.m.
Sherway Gardens – open from 9 a.m. to 5 p.m.
Vaughan Mills - open from 9:30 a.m. to 6 p.m.
Liquor stores
LCBO – most locations will shut at 6 p.m.
The Beer Store – all locations will close at 5 p.m.
Wine Rack will operate for selective hours.
What will be open on Christmas Day?
Almost all the major grocery chains will be closed on Christmas Day. Here's a list of places you can go to instead.
Rabba is open across the GTA 24-hours, seven days a week.
Summerhill Market – all locations will be open from 9 a.m. to 1 p.m.
Eataly – all locations will be open from 9 a.m. to 9 p.m.
Pharmacies
Shoppers Drug Mart will be open for selective hours.
Shopping Malls
Pacific Mall in Markham will be open from 11 a.m. to 8 p.m.
Liquor Stores
All LCBO and The Beer Store locations will be closed. Some Wine Rack locations will remain open for selective hours.
What will be open on Boxing Day?

Costco – all locations will be open from 9 a.m. to 8:30 p.m. except The Scarborough Business Centre, which will be open from 9 a.m. to 6 p.m.
Farm Boy – all stores will be open from 9 a.m. to 5 p.m.

What will the TTC operating hours be like?
The streetcars, subway and buses will operate on a Sunday schedule on Christmas Day. On Boxing Day, they will operate on a holiday service schedule.
GO transit will run on a Saturday schedule on both, Christmas Day and Boxing Day.
Services around Toronto
Canada Post is closed on national, provincial and territorial holidays. There will be no delivery or collection on Christmas Day or Boxing Day.
All banks are closed on Christmas Day and Boxing Day.
Service Canada is also closed on Christmas Day and Boxing Day.
Some ServiceOntario online services will remain available for government document work.
Major tourist attractions like the CN Tower, Ripley's Aquarium, Casa Loma and the Toronto Zoo will remain open through the holidays.
Canada's Wonderland 'Winterfest' will be closed on Dec. 24 and Dec. 25, and will reopen to the public at 3 p.m. on Dec. 26.
Many of the city's skating rinks will be open over the holidays.
The Union Station roller rink will be closed from Christmas Eve until Boxing Day. Some museums in Toronto, such as the ROM and the AGO, will be closed on Christmas, but open on Boxing Day.
Cineplex theatres will also be open but have varying hours.
