An elderly woman has died after being struck by a vehicle in the city’s west end on Saturday, police say.

The incident was reported just before 6 p.m. at Dufferin Street and Armstrong Avenue just north of Bloor Street, Toronto paramedics say.

Police say the 90-year-old woman was knocked unconscious after she was struck by a vehicle. Her injuries were initially described as “serious.”

She was transported to a nearby hospital, where she was later pronounced dead, a Traffic Services staff sergeant confirmed.

Police say the driver remained at the scene.

Dufferin Street was closed between Hallam Street and Wallace Avenue while police investigated, but the road has since reopened.
