An elderly man is dead after a stabbing at a senior’s residence in Whitby on Thursday, Durham Regional Police say.
Police responded to an ambulance call at the residence located at Anderson Street and Taunton Road just before 6 a.m.
According to police, an 89-year-old man was pronounced dead at the scene.
The man’s 89-year-old wife was also located by police with stab wounds. She was taken to local hospital with non-life threatening injuries.
An investigation is underway but police say this is an isolated incident and at this point they “do not believe there was any foul play involved.”
