Hundreds of passengers had to rely on buses to end their evening commute after a GO train collided with a truck in Mississauga Tuesday night.

The Union 19:00 – Milton 19:58 train collided with the truck east of Dixie Station at around 7:30 p.m., Metrolinx's Anne Marie Aikins said. Roughly 800 passengers were on the train at the time.

It is unknown if the truck stalled on the tracks for mechanical reasons or driver error.

Passengers travelling further west were accommodated by buses, Aikins said. It took three hours to get all passengers off the train.

No serious injuries have been reported.

Canadian Pacific Railway will investigate the collision, but there is no anticipated impact on Wednesday morning trains.
