The mother of a baby girl found abandoned in Toronto in 2008 has been fatally stabbed in Jamaica.

Stephanie Warren, 39, was stabbed to death in Kingston at 11:20 p.m. New Year's Eve, local police told CTVNews.ca. Warren's husband, Alphonso, has been arrested in connection with the case.

The couple was living in Jamaica, where they moved a year after their infant daughter was found abandoned in a Toronto parking garage.

"Baby Angelica" was found in a freezing stairwell in North York in January, 2008, but survived the ordeal. She was later adopted, along with the couple's three other children.

Both parents were charged and pleaded guilty to abandoning the baby. Alphonso Warren was given a 22-month prison sentence, while Stephanie was fined $300.

The couple then moved to Jamaica.

Four years ago, local police arrested the couple again when the body of their two-year-old son Joshua was found in a suitcase in their home. The cause of death was ruled to be natural causes, and the couple was charged with failing to bury the body. They were also charged with concealing his death.
