A white minivan veered off the road, driving through the wall of a house in the north part of Oshawa Friday afternoon.

Police said two elderly passengers were in the van, a man and a woman.

They were transported to hospital after the vehicle drove off of Simcoe Street North.

Emergency responders said neither passenger seemed to have serious injuries, but they were shaken up.

The house, however, was worse for the wear.

Photos from the scene show the van three-quarters of the way into the white stucco house, with its back hatch open.

"Right now the kitchen is in the bathroom," said Oshawa Fire Captain Pete Cameron.

Police say the van was originally travelling south when it crossed both lanes of northbound traffic, went down a slope and right into the house.

They are still investigating what caused the crash.
