One man in his 20s was taken to hospital after a shooting in North York on Sunday afternoon, police confirmed.

The incident occurred around 3:25 p.m. on Goldsboro Road, located near Islington and Finch avenues, according to police.

Sounds of gunshots were heard in the area before Toronto Paramedics and police arrived on scene.

The man suffered from gunshot wounds to his upper body, paramedics said.

A second victim, who suffered minor injuries, was later located by police.

Police later said in a post on Twitter that one of the victims was shot multiple times and two men were seen fleeing.

Police said it was possible the suspects fled in a white vehicle. They described one suspect as a tall black male in his 20s who was muscular and wearing all black. The second suspect was described as a black male who was around five-feet-seven inches tall and had a stocky build. He was described as wearing blue jeans.

The investigation is ongoing.
