Two teenage boys were arrested after an armed robbery involving a handgun in North York on Monday.

The incident occurred around 7 p.m. at a convenience store located near Jane Street and Sheppard Avenue West.

Police allege that two suspects concealed their faces with balaclavas and walked into the store. One pointed a black semi-automatic handgun directly at a victim inside and demanded money, police said.

The suspects obtained a quantity of cash and then fled.

When officers arrived on scene, they searched the area and located a glock 9mm handgun and ammunition.

Police said Wednesday that two suspects had been arrested in connection with the case.

A 16-year-old Toronto boy was arrested and faces nine charges, including disguise with intent and pointing a firearm.

A 14-year-old Toronto boy was also arrested and was charged with robbery with intent, disguise with intent and possession of property obtained by crime.

The names of the teenagers cannot be revealed under the Youth Criminal Justice Act.

They were scheduled to appear in court on Tuesday.
