Syrian children currently living in a Toronto hotel received toys to play with on Sunday, thanks to a free pop-up shop organized by local volunteers.
The Syrian Refugee Free Toy Store Pop Up Shop opened at 9 a.m. on Sunday at the Toronto Plaza Hotel, and welcomed refugee families throughout the day until 5 p.m.
During those hours, volunteers distributed new and gently used donated toys to refugee children who are currently staying at the hotel.
Let Them Be Kids Toronto, an organization dedicated to collecting and distributing donated toys to Syrian refugees, ran the event with the help of a group of volunteers.
