There will be no service between Bloor and Eglinton stations on the Yonge-University-Spadina subway line on Saturday until noon, the TTC has warned.

While crews perform emergency repairs to the track bed near Davisville Station, 35 shuttle buses will be operating above ground.

Subway service will begin at 9 a.m. on Saturday, but trains will not be stopping between Bloor and Eglinton until the repairs are complete.

In a statement, the TTC said that the 60-year-old stretch of track bed needs to be replaced immediately because it is causing "deteriorated service."

"The TTC is committed to correcting this poor service level," according to the statement which outlined plans to pack down the stones around the track in an effort to improve stability.

They will also check all switches, train stops and signals, making replacements or repairs as required.

The work will begin at the end of service on Friday and continue through the night and into Saturday.
