Police are asking for the public’s help to identify a man wanted in connection with a sexual assault in North York on Friday night.

They are also warning the public that sexual assaults are being reported by sex-trade workers in North York “with increasing frequency.”

Police say a man sexually assaulted a 22-year-old woman on Empress Walk, in the Yonge Street and Sheppard Avenue area, on Friday night at approximately 11 p.m. They say he fled on foot after he was confronted by a witness.

Police released security camera footage of a suspect in Friday’s incident on Saturday, but no description.

Meanwhile, police are also warning that sex-trade workers of Chinese descent are being sexually assaulted and robbed in Yonge Street and Finch Avenue, and Yonge Street and Sheppard Avenue area, by a man who pretends to be a client.

The suspect is described as a black male, wearing a dark-coloured hat that has light-coloured patterns, a camouflage backpack and a dark puffy jacket with light patches on the shoulders.
