The co-owner of a Toronto addiction clinic is facing charges in connection with a sexual assault.

Police said a female client was assaulted in September while seeking treatment at The Academy Addiction Treatment Centre.

The centre, which opened last December, is located at 3 Warrendale Ct., in the area of Albion Road and Kipling Avenue.

Police provided few details, but said they believe a man at the clinic "used his position of authority" to obtain sexual favours.

Editor's note: The name of a suspect charged in the case has been removed from this article as court documents obtained by CTV News Toronto show all charges against the suspect were dismissed.

Officers said Friday that they believe there may be other victims. Anyone with more information is asked to contact police at 416-808-2300, or call Crime Stoppers anonymously at 416-222-8477 (TIPS).
