MISSISSAUGA, Ont. -- The Ontario Provincial Police have charged one of their own with careless driving following an accident on March 5.

The OPP says the officer was driving a marked cruiser eastbound on Highway 403 in Mississauga when traffic began to slow due to volume.

The officer allegedly struck the rear of a vehicle he was behind and that led to five vehicles colliding in a chain-reaction collision.

One female was taken to hospital with minor injuries.

Constable Jocelyn Brisebois, a one year member of the OPP assigned to the Port Credit detachment, was issued a summons for careless driving.
