CHATSWORTH, Ont. - Provincial police say a southern Ontario church leader and his brother are facing a total of 31 charges following allegations of physical and sexual assault.

Police say the investigation involving a leader of the Church of Jesus Christ Restored in Chatsworth began 16 months ago after a woman from nearby Owen Sound went public with her allegations.

Some of the charges date back to 1978 and involve seven people who were members of the church during the time the alleged offences were reported to have occurred.

Judson William King, 59, of Oakville, is to appear in court on May 15 to face four counts of assault, and one count each of assault with a weapon and uttering death threats.

OPP have issued an arrest warrant for Frederick Madison King on 25 counts, including sexual exploitation, sexual interference, sexual assault, uttering death threats, and assault with a weapon.

Investigators say the 55-year-old hasn't been seen since the allegations came forward.
