One child is dead following a serious collision involving multiple people in East Gwilliumbury on Wednesday afternoon, York Regional Police say.
The two-vehicle crash happened in the area of Woodbine Avenue and Mount Albert Road shortly before 4 p.m.
Following the crash, police said one child was pronounced dead and several others were taken to hospital with unknown injuries.
Woodbine Avenue is closed in both direction between Herald and Doane roads and Mount Albert Road is closed in both directions between Leslie Street and Warden Avenue.
Police say road closures in the area will be implemented for quite some time.
