A man shot to death at a townhouse complex in Mississauga on Saturday morning has been identified by police as 29-year-old man Mustafa Omar.

Omar, who is a resident of Toronto, was fatally shot at around 5:30 a.m. Saturday at a townhouse complex located at 7475 Goreway Drive, north of Morning Star Drive in Mississauga.

Police say when paramedics arrived on scene, Omar was found with obvious trauma and was rushed to hospital, where he was later pronounced dead.

Three other male victims were treated for injuries sustained during the shooting and two remain in hospital with non-life-threatening injuries. The third victim has since been released from hospital.

Const. Rachel Gibbs previously told reporters that the townhouse where the shooting took place is known to police.

Investigators are asking anyone who may have witnessed the shooting or anyone who was in the area at the time to contact police at (905) 453-2121, ext. 3205.

Omar is the Peel Region’s fifth homicide victim of the year.
