A 24-year-old Toronto man is facing more than 160 charges after being accused of selling fake tickets online.

Police said their investigation began on Monday, when a man who bought tickets to an event through classified ads website Kijiji later found out the tickets were fake.

The buyer reported the incident, and the fraud unit began an investigation into the seller.

On Friday, Toronto police said Michael Heys-Walsh had been charged with 163 offences as a result of the investigation.

Charges include 95 counts of possession of identification data, 18 counts of forgery and 18 counts of fraudulent documents.
