One man is dead and another has non-life threatening injuries after a stabbing at an Etobicoke community centre early Sunday morning.

It happened at the Tibetan Cultural Centre on Titan Road at around 3:30 a.m.

The victim was rushed to hospital via emergency run but was pronounced dead a short time later.

The second victim left the scene following the stabbing, but was later pulled over for speeding near The Queensway and Dixie Road and taken to hospital, where he remains in stable condition.

Neither victim has been identified pending notification of next-of-kin.

"We don’t have any suspects at this time, but it is still early and my investigators have just begun the preliminary stages of the investigation," Staff Insp. Greg McLane told CP24 Sunday morning. "The next few hours will really tell what they are able to do."

According to McLane, as many as 40 people may have witnessed the stabbing, though many of them left without speaking to police.

Investigators are asking anyone who was at the event to contact Det. Sgt. Pauline Gray at (416) 808-7400 ext 77412 or Crime Stoppers anonymously at (416) 222-TIPS (8477).
