NEW LOWELL, Ont. -- A man arrested after the death of a woman west of Barrie, Ont., is now facing a second-degree murder charge.
Police say 50-year-old Deena K. Brooks of Clearview Township was declared dead after emergency officials responded to a "disturbance" in the village of New Lowell Friday night.
They say Mitchell I. Brooks, 49, also of Clearview Township, was taken into custody shortly afterward and has since been charged.
Police say he appeared in court Saturday.
But they say no further details of the case can be released due to a publication ban.
