TORONTO - A man who was allegedly threatened by a friend of Rob Ford's in relation to the former Toronto mayor's so-called crack video has pleaded guilty to drug and gang-related charges.

Liban Siyad had been arrested last year in an investigation known as Project Traveller, in which police wiretaps allegedly captured conversations about the infamous video in which Ford appears to smoke crack cocaine.

Siyad has pleaded guilty to trafficking cocaine, participating in a criminal organization for the purpose of trafficking cocaine, and conspiracy to traffic guns.

His lawyer said Siyad received a sentence of five years but only has to serve two years and nine months due to time already spent in pre-trial custody.

Siyad is one of the men whose name came up in police documents detailing the investigation into the so-called crack video.

Ford's friend, Alexander (Sandro) Lisi, is facing a charge of extortion in relation to the video, with police alleging he threatened Siyad and another man over the clip.

Police believe that Siyad was among those present during the recording of the video.
