A suspect accused of sexually assaulting a 25-year-old woman as she waited for a train at Bay Station has been arrested, police say.

The woman told police she was standing on the platform inside Bay Station at around 5 p.m. on Aug. 31 when she was approached by a man and sexually assaulted.

She said she was able to flee by pushing the man away and boarding the next train.

Earlier this month, police released surveillance camera images taken from inside the station of a suspect wanted in connection with the incident.

Police said an arrest was made in the investigation on Oct. 21.

A suspect identified as 55-year-old Edward Russell Adams, of Toronto, has been charged with sexual assault and three counts of failure to comply with probation.

He was expected to make an appearance in court that same day.

Police are concerned there may be more victims and urge anyone with information to call police at 416-808-5300 or Crime Stoppers anonymously at 416-222-TIPS (8477).
