A Rexdale resident narrowly escaped death Sunday morning when a bullet came whizzing through her door, just missing the spot where she lay sleeping.

Toronto police were called to a townhouse complex in the Albion Road and Kipling Avenue area just after 4:30 a.m. after a report of gunshots.

When they arrived, investigators found numerous shell casings along with bullet holes in the exterior wall of the housing complex on Orpington Crescent.

No one was hurt in the attack but police say they are looking for the person or people involved.

Anybody with information on the shooting is being asked to call police at 23 Division at 416-808-2300. Callers who wish to remain anonymous can call Crime Stoppers at 416-222-TIPS.
