The family of a Brampton man who died after he was attacked during a late-night walk is appealing to witnesses to come forward on the one-year anniversary of his death.

Tho Huynh, 53, went for a walk around his neighbourhood to pick up his mail at approximately 1 a.m. on Aug. 1, 2014. Police say he was confronted by "unknown person(s)" in the area of Hurontario Street and Conservative Drive in Brampton. He later died of his injuries.

"He was a loving son, brother, uncle, and friend to many," his family said in a statement released earlier this week. "We are reaching out to the public in hopes that there may be some information to assist in making an arrest."

Anyone with information is asked to contact police at 905-453-2121, ext. 3205, or Crime Stoppers at 1-800-222-TIPS (8477).
