An elderly woman was rushed to hospital in critical condition following an apartment building fire in Oakville Saturday night.
The blaze broke out inside a seventh floor unit in a building on Speers Road north of Kerr Street at around 10:30 p.m.
Fire crews had to completely evacuate the building after smoke filled the hallways, but were able to contain the fire to the original unit.
The Ontario Fire Marshal's office has been called in to investigate.
