A 42-year-old woman who was struck and dragged by an SUV last week has died as a result of her injuries, police said.

The woman was crossing Doris Avenue, near Yonge Street and Sheppard Avenue, at a marked pedestrian crosswalk when she was hit Thursday evening.

Toronto police said the woman was dragged a short distance before collapsing onto the curb. She suffered serious life-threatening injuries and was taken to hospital.

She died Monday, police said in a statement released Tuesday.

The SUV was driven by a 40-year-old man.

No charges have been laid at this time, and no names have been released.
