TORONTO - Toronto police say a 42-year-old woman is in critical condition after she was struck and dragged by an SUV Thursday night.
Constable Hugh Smith says the woman was crossing Doris Avenue in the Yonge Street and Sheppard Avenue area at a marked pedestrian crosswalk when she was hit around 9 p.m.
Smith says the woman was dragged a short distance before falling to the curb, sustaining serious life-threatening injuries.
The SUV was driven by a 40-year-old man.
The woman was transported to hospital in critical condition.
No names have been released.
