Twitter introduced a new slogan Thursday, but for some 13 million Ontario residents it is anything but new.

The popular social media tool which allows its users to "tweet" their thoughts, opinions and other random events in 140 character segments revamped its format with new features and a new slogan "Yours to Discover."

The slogan is found on a website promoting its fly.twitter.com redesign.

Unfortunately, the Yours to Discover slogan has been the official phrase for Ontario, Canada's most populated province, for almost 30 years.

The slogan first appeared on the province's new blue and white licence plates in 1982 replacing the previous slogan "Keep it beautiful." The slogan is also used as the official slogan on its travel and tourism pages.

News of the copycat slogan popped up quickly on social media sites, ironically making it one of the most popular local topics on the offending site.

Even Dalton McGuinty, the province's premier, could not help but notice the obvious similarity in his own tweet.

"@Twitter launches "Yours to Discover" campaign. I like it – where have I seen that before…"
