A Toronto bus driver has been charged in connection with a pedestrian fatality earlier this month.

Police said a 65-year-old woman died when she was struck at approximately 10:30 a.m. on Oct 11, as she was walking on a crosswalk on Lawrence Avenue West at Allen Road.

Police said the Toronto Transit Commission bus was turning out of Lawrence Station when it struck the unidentified woman.

At the time of the crash, police said they had video footage of the woman crossing the street. They also said the bus driver was "emotionally traumatized" by the incident.

The 34-year-old driver, who has not been named, was charged Tuesday with careless driving, turning unsafely, and failing to yield to a pedestrian on a crosswalk.

He will appear in court at Old City Hall on Thursday, Nov. 20.
