A pickup truck plunged into a water-filled quarry following a serious collision with a van near Hagersville on Friday morning.
It happened at the intersection of Concession 12 and Sandusk Road.
According to OPP, the collision caused the van to roll over and off the road. The pickup truck veered off the road and into the nearby quarry.
OPP said the van was driven by a 52-year-old woman. The woman and a 22-year-old passenger were sent to hospital with non-life-threatening injuries.
Initially, OPP did not immediately know the number of passengers in the pickup truck. At around 3:30 p.m., OPP confirmed that one man was inside the pickup truck that landed in the quarry.
It is not yet clear if there are more people inside the vehicle or if the man has been located or rescued.
Rescue crews -- including a team of emergency rescue divers -- have been on the scene attempting to locate and extract the submerged truck since the incident occurred.
