Toronto police are searching for a missing elopee.

Shawn Alfredson, 48, last seen on Dec. 26 at 6:15 p.m. near Ossington Avenue and Queen Street West.

He is described as five-foot-seven with a heavy build and 250 pounds with greyish-brown hair.

Alfredson was last seen wearing a black hooded sweatshirt, black sweatpants, and black and beige running shoes.

He is currently bound by a Form 49 detention order, also known as a warrant of committal. Issued by the Ontario Review Board when a person is found Not Criminally Responsible in court, a warrant of committal “disposition of detention” commits a person to the custody of a provincial psychiatric hospital and subjects them to abide by certain conditions.

Police said Alfredson was found not criminally responsible for an index offence of aggravated assault and possession of weapon for dangerous purpose.

Anyone with information about his whereabouts is asked to contact Toronto police at 416-808-1400 or Crime Stoppers anonymously.
