A Toronto police officer sustained a minor injury to his lower leg during the pursuit of several robbery suspects in North York late Monday afternoon.

The robbery happened in the Downsview neighbourhood, near Keele Street and Wilson Avenue.

Toronto police said they were called to that area at 4:40 p.m.

They said that “multiple” suspects robbed a store before fleeing in a blue car.

That vehicle, which was located by police, was then involved in a collision a short time later in the York University Heights area, near Finch Avenue West and Chesswood Drive.

Investigators said several suspects fled on foot from the crash, but were chased by officers and apprehended.

Four unidentified male suspects were arrested. Charges have not been announced.

Finch is currently closed in both directions at Chesswood as police investigate.

Anyone with further information is asked to contact Toronto police or Crime Stoppers anonymously.
