Man wanted for murder in fatal New Year’s Eve shooting in Oshawa

An arrest warrant has been issued for a 44-year-old man in connection with the fatal New Year’s Eve shooting in Oshawa.

Police say Michael Mills is wanted for second-degree murder in the shooting death of 29-year-old Dennis Binda.

The victim was found shot inside an apartment building at 1040 Cedar Street, north of Wentworth Street West, on the afternoon of Dec. 31. He was later pronounced dead at the scene.

On Tuesday, police released a photo of Mills and asked for the public’s help finding him.

Investigators have not revealed a possible motive for the shooting but said the incident was isolated.
