Volunteers were putting finishing touches on reindeer noses and gingerbread houses Saturday in preparation for Toronto's 107th Santa Claus Parade.

Canada's oldest children's parade kicks off at 12:30 p.m. on Sunday, starting at Christie Pitts Park.

It takes more than 3,000 volunteers working all-year round to create the parade that draws thousands each November.

"It's a dream come true for me, I've been going to the parade since I was a little kid," parade volunteer Bray Scott-Lewis told CTV Toronto. "It's really awesome."

This year's parade follows a new route to accommodate growing crowds. From Christie Pitts Park, the parade heads east on Bloor Street West, south on University Avenue, east along Wellington Street and then ends at St. Lawrence Market.

It will take several hours for all 26 floats to wind down the 6.2 kilometre route.
