It will be another frustrating weekend for drivers wanting to get downtown through a maze of road closures.

The 13th annual Toronto International Marathon, taking place Sunday, will close down local streets from 3:30 a.m. until 4 p.m.

The marathon will start behind Mel Lastman Square in North York, on Beecroft Avenue promptly at 9 a.m.

Drivers along the route should expect delays or should consider taking public transportation.

This is the route the marathon will follow:

  • north to Park Home Road to Yonge Street
  • south on Yonge Street to Chaplin Crescent
  • west on Chaplin Crescent to Oriole Parkway
  • south on Oriole Parkway to Lonsdale Road
  • west on Lonsdale Road to Spadina Road
  • south on Spadina Road around Casa Loma to Macpherson Avenue
  • east on MacPherson Avenue to Davenport Road
  • east on Belmont Street to Yonge Street
  • south on Aylmer Road to Rosedale Valley Road
  • south on Bayview Avenue to King Street
  • east on Sumach Street to Eastern Avenue
  • west on Eastern Avenue to Front Street
  • west on Wellington Street and continue to University Avenue
  • south on University to York Street through to Queen's Quay
  • west on Queen's Quay to Remembrance Drive
  • along Aquatic Drive and Martin Goodman Trail to just east of the Humber River
  • follow trail back to York Street
  • north on University to the finish line at Queen's Park
