York Regional Police have arrested three of four men wanted in connection to a fatal stabbing last weekend.

On Oct. 16, 2010, police responded to a disturbance call outside a Markham restaurant at 398 Ferrier Street, near Steeles and Warden Avenues, and learned that two men had been stabbed in an altercation.

The men had been taken to hospital by friends, suffering from stab wounds.

Vandin Svay, 28, was pronounced dead later that night. The cause of death has been confirmed to be sharp-force trauma. A 24-year-old man remains in hospital with serious injuries.

"An altercation broke out between the individuals. One thing leads to another and an individual gets injured and succumbs to his injuries," Homicide Det.-Sgt. Larry Wilson told reporters.

Earlier this week, York police released security photographs of four people they believed were connected to the altercation.

Police say they have interviewed witnesses who were at a banquet at the Century Palace Restaurant that night.

Two suspects turned themselves in to police on Friday after contacting homicide investigators earlier in the day. A third turned himself in on Saturday.

Meng Ly Lim, 28, Cho Chea, 24, and Veasna Sam, 30, all of Toronto, are charged with first degree murder and attempted murder.

They will appear in a Newmarket court on Saturday or Sunday.

Police are still seeking a fourth suspect in relation to the incident.
