A teenage Toronto boy turned himself in to police Sunday afternoon and is now facing a second degree murder charge for a stabbing death last week.

At about 4 p.m. Sunday, a 16-year-old turned himself in at 32 Division in relation to the death of Jeffrey Delgado.

The 20-year-old was found behind a North York coffee shop last Monday morning when an employee was taking out the trash.

Police treated the death as suspicious, saying the victim had suffered obvious signs of trauma to his body.

An autopsy on Tuesday determined the cause of death to be a penetrating stab wound to the chest.

The suspect, who cannot be identified under the Youth Criminal Justice Act, was charged with second degree murder. He was scheduled to appear in a Finch Avenue West courtroom Monday morning.
