A 49-year-old teacher has been charged in connection with a sexual assault investigation involving two victims. Toronto police say the alleged assaults happened during school hours.
According to police, a 19-year-old woman is alleged to have been sexually assaulted from November 2014 to January 2015, and from July 6, 2015 to July 29, 2015.
Police allege the same male teacher also sexually assaulted a 17-year-old girl during school hours from July 6, 2015 to July 30, 2015.
Chinedu Okoro, of Mississauga, has been charged with six counts of sexual assault and four counts of sexual exploitation. He appeared in court on Friday, Aug. 21.
Okoro worked at C.W. Jefferys Collegiate Institute but didn't teach any classes during the regular school year, TDSB spokesperson Ryan Bird told CP24.
Police say Okoro was also employed at the Emery Adult Learning Centre from September 2014 to June 2015.
Police believe there may be other victims.
The TDSB says Okoro has been placed on home assignment, which is what the board does in cases involving serious criminal allegations against a worker.
