TORONTO - Another person is in the race to become the next leader of the Ontario New Democrats.

Toronto's Peter Tabuns has registered as a candidate to replace Howard Hampton when he steps aside next year.

Tabuns isn't saying when he'll announce his candidacy, but confirms he's registered to run.

Andrea Horwath of Hamilton is also widely expected to make a run for the job, but isn't prepared to comment just yet.

Toronto's Michael Prue and Gilles Bisson from Timmins-James Bay are the only two declared candidates in the leadership race.

The New Democrats will vote for new leader at a convention in Hamilton next March.
