A 19-year-old suspect wanted in connection to the murder of Anthony Spencer has been arrested by Toronto police.

LaPrincia Palmer, of Mississauga, surrendered to police on Thursday.

Spencer, 23, died on Jan. 21 after being shot inside a basement recording studio at 799 Brimley Rd., near Lawrence Avenue East in Scarborough.

Police said Spencer was recording hip hop music with friends when he was confronted by a group of people, one of them armed with a gun.

Spencer was shot at close range and the suspects fled the scene. The victim's friends rushed him to hospital, dropping him off before leaving in two cars.

Two men were charged last week in the fatal shooting. Sam Paul, 23, has been charged with first-degree murder and armed robbery. Chever Ashley, 22, has been charged with accessory-after-the-fact to murder and robbery with a firearm.

On Thursday, Palmer was charged with robbery while armed with a firearm and attempt to obstruct justice.

She is scheduled to appear in court on Thursday.
