Police say there is still no sign of a missing Markham woman more than a week after she disappeared.

York Regional Police say they are planning another ground search for Taneesha Brown on Saturday, Jan. 23. A command post will be set up at Bur Oak Secondary School, which is located in Markham near Major Mackenzie Drive and Markham Road.

The 25-year-old woman was last seen on at approximately 10:45 a.m. on Jan. 12, in the area of McCowan Road and Castlemore Avenue.

Police are also asking area residents to check their backyards and sheds for any clues. Markham businesses are also being asked to download and print a copy of the missing person poster, and post it on doors or high-visibility areas.

On Tuesday, police said they spoke with a man who interacted with Brown the night she went missing. The man came forward hours after investigators released security footage that showed him speaking with Brown outside Bur Oak Secondary.

However, investigators said that the pair’s interaction yielded no clues as to Brown’s whereabouts.

Investigators are still combing through tips that came in as a result of last week’s media coverage of her disappearance.

Brown is described as black, 5-foot-5 and 122 lbs. She has black, shoulder-length hair with pink highlights. She was last seen wearing a traditional Muslim outfit consisting of a white, knee-length dashiki with white pants underneath, a white hijab, and carrying a black purse.
