Environment Canada issued a severe thunderstorm watch for Toronto and nearby areas Tuesday morning.
Residents of southern Ontario can expect heavy rain this afternoon and early this evening ahead of an approaching cold front, the weather agency said.
The thunderstorms have the potential to become severe, bringing large hail, heavy winds and torrential rainfall.
