Man wanted for allegedly accidentally shooting a dog in Niagara Falls

A one-year-old husky nearly died after a man allegedly accidentally fired a handgun in Niagara Falls.
Niagara Regional Police Service (NRPS) responded to a report of a shooting just after 3:30 a.m. on Saturday, where officers found the dog in critical condition and rushed her to an Emergency Veterinary Clinic.
"Immediate lifesaving efforts" were made, and the husky was stabilized before being transferred to the Peoples Animal Welfare Society (PAWS), NRPS said. The dog has since been moved to a veterinary clinic outside the region for continued treatment.
Police allege the male suspect was visiting some residents inside of an apartment building, located on Jepson Street near Victoria Avenue, when a handgun was seen tucked in his waistband.
Police said the suspect tried to display the firearm when it went off and struck the husky. They added he ran away from the scene with the handgun.
The NRPS K9 Unit searched the area but could not locate the suspect.
Anthony Angoy, 26, of Thorold is wanted for multiple criminal offences, including careless use of a firearm and failure to comply with probation order.
