Police are investigating possible connections between a gunshot injury and an attempted carjacking in Mississauga.

Peel Regional Police say they received a report of an attempted carjacking of a high-end vehicle in the area of Lorne Park and Garden roads just before midnight on Saturday. In photos obtained by CP24, the vehicle appears to be a yellow Lamborghini.

Const. Moulika Sharma told CTV News Toronto in an email that a victim suffered minor injuries and was assessed by emergency first responders.

"The unknown suspect(s) fled the scene in an unknown vehicle," Sharma wrote.

Police say they received a second report roughly 30 minutes later of an individual with a gunshot wound at a local hospital.

Sharma says officers provided assistance to that person, who was taken to a trauma centre and is currently in non-life-threatening condition.

"Investigators are working diligently to determine if there is any connection between these two incidents," Sharma says.
