A 72-year-old man was taken to hospital with a gunshot wound to his leg after a drive-by shooting early Saturday evening.

The man was sitting on his porch at 104 Humber Blvd., in the Weston Rd. and Black Creek Dr. area, when gunshots rang out at about 5:30 p.m.

Toronto police believe the shots came from a passing car, which witnesses described as a black four-door Volkswagen Jetta.

The victim was taken to Humber River Regional Hospital's Church St. site, to be treated for a minor leg wound, according to Duty Insp. Art Little.

Little told reporters at the scene that a number of people were on the porch at the time of the shooting, including children.

"We don't believe that the gentleman who was struck was the intended target," Little said.

A number of witnesses have provided information to police, he said, including the car's licence plate number.

Investigators are looking for three suspects who are described as black males around 20 years of age.
