Toronto police have released security camera footage of a shooting outside a Korean restaurant in Willowdale earlier this week.

The shooting took place outside The Famous Owl of Minerva, located on Yonge Street near Finch Avenue, at around 2:15 a.m. Tuesday.

In the video, a man is seen walking up to the front of the restaurant where he fires “several rounds” from a handgun through the windows at the front of the restaurant.

Police said a male customer, who was inside the restaurant at the time, was shot as a result.

The victim – believed to be a man in his 30s – was rushed to a trauma centre with serious injuries.

Immediately following the shooting, a black four-door sedan can be seen pulling up in front of the restaurant with its four-way flashers on. The suspect then gets into the vehicle, which proceeds to flee southbound on Yonge Street.

Police are searching for a suspect described as a black male who is between 20 and 30 years old, approximately five-foot-seven to five-foot-nine with a thin build and neck-length braided hair.

Anyone with information about the shooting is being asked to contact police at 416-808-3200 or Crime Stoppers at 416-222-TIPS (8477).
