Several buses have been cancelled due to an extreme cold weather alert and snow squall warnings across southern Ontario.
Environment Canada warns that a cold front passing over the Great Lakes will be accompanied by a "brief but intense band of heavy snow." Visibility could be reduced to 200 metres during the squalls.
The following schools are closed due to weather:
- East Garafraxa Public School (East Garafraxa, Ont.)
- Laurelwoods Elementary School (Laurel, Ont.)
- Primrose Public School (Mulmur, Ont.)
Schools remain open but buses have been cancelled for the following regions:
- Student Transportation Service Consortium of Grey Bruce: All buses operating in zones 1 to 15
- Simcoe County: South and west zones
- Wellington-Dufferin: District 4 Green Card
- Bluewater District School Board: Buses to John Diefenbaker Senior School
- Dufferin-Peel Catholic District School Board: All buses in Dufferin County
- Nipissing-Parry Sound Student Transportation Services
