Police are searching for the driver of a rented black Mustang convertible after the luxury car was abandoned in a deep hole in the city’s west end.
The driver was not on site when emergency crews arrived around 2 a.m. Sunday morning to a construction site near Oakwood Avenue and Vaughan Road. Police believe the driver fled the scene.
The car was found lying on its side at the bottom of the metres-deep ditch, which is part of construction efforts by a nearby garage. Firefighters were called in to haul the vehicle out.
The car has since been towed.
No injuries were reported. Traffic Services is investigating.
